	Over the past decade we have seen an improvement to our quality of life which can be attributed to the development of more sophisticated economies, use of technology to provide better medical care and general improvement in the infrastructures, social amenities and other services provided to support our modern life styles.

While we are gaining grounds with our hi-tech development, we are also seeing a deterioration in our core social and family values. Most of our values, norms, cultural practices and societal checks and balances are rapidly eroding away giving rise to new social challenges. Today we live in a continuously changing diverse society with very complex socio-economic and demographic structures. A discussion of the impact of these complexities on social care provision is the subject of a lively debate on our blog.
